CURRICULUM

ART STATEMENT
My recent work can be described like poetic drawing. In spite of having a figurative base, in the process my paintings are become abstract, until acquiring a load that is more emotional or symbolic, that narrative. Step the time thinking and dreaming my pictures, but when I begin to paint them is the impromptu of first brush the one that determines the line. In that sense, my work must much to him to the expressionism. I cannot speak of the subjects of my paintings without speaking of feelings: for me anarchy, pacifism, mysticism, are not only ideas, but forms to feel the world at different moments and circumstances.

My pictures are born from an incredulous spirit who cannot avoid to have a feeling that there are forces that move the cosmos. Perhaps for that reason I feel a great affinity with some surrealistic ideas and, more particularly, with psycho magic of Alexander Jodorowski, simultaneously serious and outlandish. I believe that this ambiguous sensitivity is very own of my generation, that simultaneously is informed and astonished by the new world, partly cybernetic, in that lives.

BIO
I was born in the city of Quito, Ecuador. From boy, I studied in different schools and factories from art. I realised my first series of 30 oils to the fifteen years, in the factory of Carlos Maldonado. Of my scholastic stage to only it matters me to stand out that I wanted to be biologist, but my notes in sciences did not allow it to me, which constituted a luck of trauma for me. My rejection of the scholastic system was transformed then into an absolute dedication to the painting and music. I touched with groups of jazz and experimental rock, like Within Helena, the Tetarra and the micropitch ones, among others. More ahead, I studied graphical design in the University of the Pacific of Santiago of Chile, but so important for my education it was to see the films and to read books of Alexander Jodorowsky, as well as those of Humberto Maturana. I dedicated myself to the professional design, until my return to Ecuador, where, aside from the painting, I began to experiment with video. My first video was realised in 2005 and My Zero is called. From 2008 alive one in New York, and I exclusively dedicate myself to paint.
