Some become very anxious for their first solo exhibit, others move their art studio to New York and still others consolidated the objectives reached. These are Simone Bergantini, Andrea Chiesi and Stefano Cagol , the “full watt” artists winners of the TP 01 and 02 whose creativity has been further boosted. Bergantini will debut on February 13 with a solo exhibit, "Black eyes explosion", at the Jarach Gallery in Venice, curated by Gianluca Marziani (also curator of the TP). We had left him triumphant last December at the Maxxi in Rome during the awards ceremony of the TP02. Today, he smiles pleased with the first results and presenting a photographic exhibit with high linguistic and visual black and white images. Andrea Chiesi, who had favorably impressed the jury during the Prize’s first edition, in the past 12 months has never stopped working. "I held three solo exhibits, explained the artist describing the phases of his brilliant career, 'Elogio dell'Ombra', at the Otto Gallery in Bologna, 'Comunità di Memoria', during the Festival of Modern Philosophy, at the Galleria D406, and 'Beyond Time' at the Nohra Haime Gallery in New York". Chiesi has also held several collective exhibits among which the “Connectivity 01” one, at the Chelsea Art Museum, in the coolest area of the Big Apple.
The artist just recently participated in Artefiera in Bologna, presented by three galleries: Corsoveneziaotto, from Milan; Guidi&Schoen from Genoa and the Otto Gallery in Bologna. " In March I will move my art studio to Brooklyn for three months" he added radiantly. The megawatt winner Stefano Cagol, lastly, known as one of the pioneers of "public art" in Italy, has been moving faster than the speed of light with a busy schedule of exhibits until the end of the year. After having won the TP02, the "megawatt" artist exhibited some of his artworks at the Artefiera in Bologna last January, curated by Julia Draganovic, director of the Chelsea Art Museum in New York and of the Pan in Naples. During the same period, also in Bologna, 'Neon-campobase' devoted a special "Focus on Stefano Cagol", a workshop on his latest video productions. "In March, explained Cagol, I will be involved in a 'solo public art project' for the Palladian Basilica in Vicenza, on behalf of the private foundation, Vignato, organized by Lara Boubnova, curator of the Biennale in Moscow, Istanbul and San Paulo". Last but not least, the artist is getting ready to leave for New York for an artist residency to be held in April, promoted by the Terna Prize, at the ISCP.
In May, Cagol will also participate in the "Extra Moenia", an itinerant project curated by Achille Bonito Oliva and Giusy Caroppo. The megawatt artist will end his artistic tour with a solo-show in December at the Oredaria Gallery in Rome.
