Premio Terna 02 - Continuity and innovation

Image name

Sandro Bondi and Flavio Cattaneo launch the second edition of the Terna Prize  for Contemporary Art where continuity and innovation meet. The edition, whose curators are Gianluca Marziani and Cristiana Collu, while still having the same structure as in the first edition, the Prize is enriched with various innovative elements.

This year’s theme is linked to the need of looking ahead to the future of mankind with great attention to the environment and energy. ‘Energy: Mankind = Future: Environment’ this is the equation that artists will have to interpret with their artworks.
Another important novelty of this editions is the Prize’s internationalization through the Connectivity project. Every year, a foreign city will be selected with which “connectivity” will be established. New York is the first one. Following the invitation by the  Chelsea Museum, as of next June 25, the winning artworks of the Terna Prize 01 will be exhibited at this venue. Furthermore, the competition will be open for the first time to artists living in New York who will participate in the  ‘Connectivity’ category.
Another novelty is represented by the Committee of Gallery Owners, coordinated by the Art advisor Francesco Cascino, that will select two special winners among the 60 finalists. In addition to Gianluca Marziani, Cristiana Collu, will be the other curator of the Prize. She is the director of the MAN art museum  in the province of Nuoro and  an international curator.
