Objectives of the Terna 02 Award
The Award’s principal objective is to support contemporary artists and art and contribute to a new virtuous relationship among businesses, the art world and public authorities through the interconnection between culture and economy.
The Award involves all of the contemporary art world and creates a circuit for promoting new talents and the role of artists as a development and search engine for new creativity. In addition to the participation of artists of all ages who work in Italy, the 2009 edition also includes the participation of Italian and foreign artists who work steadily in New York. The introduction of a new dedicated category “Connectivity New York” reflects Terna’s will to encourage the exchange of experiences and creativity with other countries while internationally promoting Italian contemporary art, thus enhancing one of our country’s aspects that has yet to be discovered.
The Theme
The theme the artists are invited to express themselves on is “Energy: Mankind= Future: Environment. The proportion for new aesthetics”, concepts that guide Terna in defining development strategies of its activities and aimed at creating an awareness among artists and the public regarding the new challenges posed by the future, topics of current interest and sustainability.
